Life & Ministry

A Legacy of Service, Impact, Faith, and Love

Pastor Theophilus Owase was more than a minister; he was a spiritual architect, a compassionate mentor, and a beacon of unwavering faith. Born on March 24, 1982, into the loving home of Late Elder Peter and Late Deaconess Christiana Owase, he was the sixth child in a family of seven—an upbringing that cultivated his deep humility, resilience, and profound sense of responsibility.

His academic journey laid the groundwork for a life of discipline and excellence. A product of St. Charles Secondary School (1998–2002), he went on to pursue a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), graduating in 2007. Though he honed his professional skills during a practical training year at TOTAL Energy in 2006, his true calling was already taking shape in the spiritual realm.

Pastor Theophilus’s decades of active ministry were defined by a rare combination of profound biblical exposition and boundless empathy. As a global ambassador for the Gospel, he organized impactful programs across East Africa, West Africa, and Asia drawing thousands into the Kingdom. Under his visionary tenure, the BLW Zone A Zonal facility at AAU saw monumental physical and spiritual progress—including structural completion, land expansion, fencing, and critical infrastructure development.

Beyond the pulpit, his passion for community development and youth mentorship was undeniable. Believing that faith was best expressed through compassionate action, he established outreach initiatives that fed families, supported students, and built enduring bonds of unity across diverse communities.

While his transition in July 2026 leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, congregation, and the countless lives he touched, his spirit lives on. We celebrate a journey faithfully run, a race well fought, and a Kingdom impact that will echo across generations.

Tributes & Words of Honor

"Pastor Theo Phillips, my friend. I miss you so very much. One of the greatest experiences I had with you was when you told me, “Clem, whatever you are doing right now is from E City to the rest of the world. From Ekpoma to the rest of the world.” I have carried those words with me for quite some time, and I have truly keyed into them. The last time we spoke, I had posted about my business and the opening of a new branch. You said, “I see what you are doing. You are doing well, Clem. I still remember. I hope you are still going to church. Stay blessed.” In all my years of being a Christian, I have never met a man who spoke about God in a way that made me, personally, draw closer to God to this extent. You made me want to find God for myself. You made me want to love God for myself. And for that, I will always be grateful that I met someone like you. I miss you, Pastor. But I carry your words with me."

"A Tribute to Pst. Theo Pst. Theo was a man of faith, full of love and life. He didn’t just preach the Word he lived it. The way he loved God, the way he loved people… it changed me. He impacted so many lives, including mine. Everything he taught us is what I’m still standing on today. His wisdom, his prayers, his encouragement are still guiding me in life. He may be gone from our sight, but his voice, his lessons, and his faith live on in all of us he poured into. Thank you, Pst. Theo. We honor you. We miss you. And we will keep living what you taught us. Until we meet again sir."

"This is a beautiful tribute. Here’s a polished version that keeps the warmth and personal memories while making it flow more naturally: A Tribute to Pastor Theo My kind and ever-loving Pastor Theo, You have made such a meaningful impact on my life. Anytime you were on the phone with my mom and I was around, you would always ask to speak with me. Whenever we talked, you would ask about my school, my spiritual life, and everything else happening in my life. Those conversations always meant so much to me. You have been such a good uncle to me since I was little. I will always remember how you would take Elvita, Davina, and me out whenever we getvto see you, buy us things, and make sure we had a good time. I especially remember when I was small and you took Elvita, Davina, and me out for ice cream and pizza. Those are memories I will always treasure. I always looked forward to seeing you and hearing your voice whenever you called. You were always so kind, caring, and intentional with me, and I am grateful for every moment, every conversation, and every memory we shared. I miss you so much, Pastor Theo. But I find comfort in knowing that you are in a safe place. You were a true man of God. You loved God deeply, and I know that God loves you even more. Thank you for being such a wonderful uncle and such a beautiful example of faith and love. I will carry your memory in my heart forever. Rest peacefully, Pastor Theo. You will always be loved and deeply missed Praise Owase"

"This is a very touching tribute. The memories make it especially powerful because they show who PT was through your eyes—not just as a pastor or family member, but as someone who made you feel loved, protected, encouraged, and happy. TRIBUTE TO Esteemed Pastor Theo- the best in. The world Losing someone you love is sometimes such a strange and painful experience. One moment, you are laughing and making memories with them, and the next moment, you are hearing the news that they are gone. For me, I keep thinking about the last time I saw you. One moment, you were taking me to school, and just a few weeks later, you were gone. When I was first told that you had gone to be with the Lord, I honestly didn’t believe it. I cried, but somewhere inside me, I was still in denial. When I got home, a part of me still expected you to open the gate and shout, “Surprise!” But when I opened the gate and was met with a picture of you instead, that was when I truly broke down. I remember everyone telling me to be strong for Mummy, but the truth is, I was still trying to find the strength to be strong for myself. PT was like a second father to me. Whenever someone couldn’t get something for me, Mummy would always say, “Call Pastor Theo. You know Pastor Theo can do anything for you.” And honestly, she was right. Pastor Theo always went above and beyond for me. When I first went for ITPLC, you took me out to eat at Bistro. You told them that whenever I came, I could order whatever I wanted and just call you, and you would pay. And you kept your word. Whenever I went to Bistro or other stores in Pinnacle Mall, I would call you, and you would always pay for whatever I needed. You never complained. You never shouted. You were simply always there for me. Sometimes, on a completely random day, I would send you a picture of something I wanted, and somehow, you would get it for me. That was the kind of person you were—caring, generous, and kind. You genuinely loved everyone in the family and always wanted the best for us. But above all, you were a man who loved God. Every morning, you would spend a long time praying, and whenever I came downstairs, one of the first things you would ask me was, “Have you read your Rhapsody of Realities?” Whenever Mummy and Daddy couldn’t take me to school, you would take me after your morning prayers. On our way, we would listen to Loveworld songs, laugh, talk, and just enjoy being together. When I first started contesting for Head Girl in my school and there was something wrong with my laptop, you generously gave me yours. It helped me so much, even though, unfortunately, I never got the chance to return it to you. During the holidays, whenever I was given an assignment that involved making a video, you were always the one making sure the lighting was perfect and everything looked just right. When we were planning Elvita’s surprise birthday, you brought a stand and started directing me as though we were filming a major movie instead of making a simple birthday video! When it was Mummy and Daddy’s anniversary, you made sure everything was paid for and taken care of. And whenever I was spending too much time on my phone during the holidays, you would look at me and say, “Is this how a future footballer acts? You haven’t even touched the ball since.” Then you would take me outside and practice football with me until we were both tired. You took me on back-to-school shopping trips, and somehow, we would always go way above the budget! When I was younger, the moment I woke up, I would run downstairs and knock on Pastor Theo’s door. You would shout, “I’m praying!” And I would reply, “I’ll pray with you.” At one point, I remember you had my picture as your WhatsApp profile picture. Whenever I came home, you would tell me that people kept asking if I was your daughter because we looked alike. You were always so happy whenever you heard that. I also remember that you were the one who taught Elvita and me how to do the Gwara Gwara. And whenever you sang, you were always doing the vocal riffs that Pastor Saki does. PT, you were always so joyful. Whenever I came back from school and walked into the living room, you would shout, “Skleen! Skleen!” or, “What’s up, what’s up, what’s up!” You always knew how to make me laugh. Whenever you went to church for a programme, you would come back with waffles and chicken from Jazari for Elvita and me. PT, you were such a fun, loving, and caring person. I wish everyone could have seen you the way I saw you. Whenever you were in the living room watching football, I would come downstairs and you would call me, “Prophetess Davina!” And, of course, I would always support the team playing against your team. But somehow, every single time I supported the team playing against you, they would lose! If I went into the kitchen and was coming back out, before I had even fully stepped out, you would look at me—sometimes without even looking up from your iPad—and say, “Show me your hands.” Then you would tell me to go back and dry my hands properly before coming out. Those little moments may have seemed ordinary at the time, but today, they mean everything to me. We started the World Cup with you, but we didn’t get to finish it with you. You told me Argentina would win. Well… Argentina didn’t win! I could go on and on because there are just too many memories. But if I continue, there probably won’t be any space left for anyone else to speak, and I may never finish this tribute. PT, I truly miss you. I have started an NGO in your name because I want to carry your legacy forward. I want to help people, just as you helped so many people. You were an inspiration to me, and I want to be an inspiration to others because of the life you lived. I hope that as people see me, they will see some of your kindness in me. I hope they will see the love, generosity, joy, and compassion that you showed me and so many others. As life goes on, I will continue to carry you in my heart and keep your legacy alive. Sometimes, I still feel like you left too soon. But I believe that everything happens for a reason. There is so much I could say, but one thing I know for sure is this: You were a good man. You were a man after God’s heart. I will forever cherish the little moments and the big moments I shared with you—the laughter, the football, the food, the prayers, the school runs, the shopping trips, the jokes, and all the countless memories that I will carry with me forever. Thank you for loving me the way you did. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for being my PT. Until we meet again, dearest Esteemed Pastor Theo… Maybe when we meet again, we can play football. See you at the rapture of the church Davina Adeboyejo Niece and special daughter"
