In Loving Memory of
24th March 1982 – 6th July 2026
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
Pastor Theophilus Owase was more than a minister; he was a spiritual architect, a compassionate mentor, and a beacon of unwavering faith. Born on March 24, 1982, into the loving home of Late Elder Peter and Late Deaconess Christiana Owase, he was the sixth child in a family of seven—an upbringing that cultivated his deep humility, resilience, and profound sense of responsibility.
His academic journey laid the groundwork for a life of discipline and excellence. A product of St. Charles Secondary School (1998–2002), he went on to pursue a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), graduating in 2007. Though he honed his professional skills during a practical training year at TOTAL Energy in 2006, his true calling was already taking shape in the spiritual realm.
Pastor Theophilus’s decades of active ministry were defined by a rare combination of profound biblical exposition and boundless empathy. As a global ambassador for the Gospel, he organized impactful programs across East Africa, West Africa, and Asia drawing thousands into the Kingdom. Under his visionary tenure, the BLW Zone A Zonal facility at AAU saw monumental physical and spiritual progress—including structural completion, land expansion, fencing, and critical infrastructure development.
Beyond the pulpit, his passion for community development and youth mentorship was undeniable. Believing that faith was best expressed through compassionate action, he established outreach initiatives that fed families, supported students, and built enduring bonds of unity across diverse communities.
While his transition in July 2026 leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, congregation, and the countless lives he touched, his spirit lives on. We celebrate a journey faithfully run, a race well fought, and a Kingdom impact that will echo across generations.

"My Pastor, My Father, My mentor, My Friend Thank you for loving me so genuinely, thank you for calling me your D, there was something so special about hearing you call me that, it made me feel loved, seen, and safe, you were always intentional about my growth, my wellbeing, and the person I was becoming, you cared about the little things, you asked questions, you gave advice, you corrected me when necessary, you encouraged me when I doubted myself, you celebrated me, and you never stopped reminding me that I could do more, I remember being afraid of something one day and when I called you, your first question was, “Have you read your Rhapsody today?” That was you, even in moments when I was afraid or worried, you always knew how to point me back to God and remind me where my confidence should be, with you, I could talk about everything, there was never a conversation that felt too small or too big, you were someone I could always talk to, and now I find myself wishing I could have just one more conversation with you, I still cannot fully process that you are gone, a part of me keeps expecting to hear your voice, see your smile, or hear you call me, “D”, it still feels unreal, I keep thinking about the last time we spoke, I never knew that conversation would be our last, I never knew that the moment I walked away from you that day would become a memory I would hold onto so tightly Papa, I wish I had stayed longer with you that day, there are still so many things I want to tell you Sir. You were one of those rare people whose presence made a difference simply by being there. Thank you for believing in me, thank you for trusting me, thank you for correcting me, thank you for encouraging me, thank you for always pointing me to God, thank you for every conversation, every prayer, every word of wisdom, every reminder, every smile, and every time you called me your D, I may not have understood the full weight of your words while you were here, but I understand them now, and I will carry them with me. Whenever I feel like I cannot do something, I will remember your voice saying, “You can do it, D, I believe in you” and I will. Your D will keep growing, your D will keep becoming everything you saw in her, and your D will keep making you proud, I miss you more than words can say I love you, Sir Always and forever ❤️❤️"
"I wasn't Pastored by you directly Sir, but anytime I get to meet You personally, you always encourage me go keep winning and to keep fighting. Thank You Sir for Your kind and warm smile always. I love you dearly Sir."
"I want to say actually thank you sir even though I never had the opportunity to say to you directly sir but thank you sir for always believing in me and also for installing in me the mindset of Excellence sir. I'll always love you sir."
"I honestly can't still believe that a day actually came where I'd have to write a tribute for you. Words fail me to express how heartbroken I feel. My only consolation is that I know that you are with the Lord. Thank you for a life well lived, and the impacts you've made in many lives, including mine. You are one person that can't come into someone's life and the person remains the same. When I met you, you didn't just give me a place to stay, you gave me a home, a covering. I love you Pastor Sir, and I'll forever keep loving you. You'll forever be in my heart. You really are one of the best things that ever happened to me. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord."
"Pastor Theo Phillips, my friend. I miss you so very much. One of the greatest experiences I had with you was when you told me, “Clem, whatever you are doing right now is from E City to the rest of the world. From Ekpoma to the rest of the world.” I have carried those words with me for quite some time, and I have truly keyed into them. The last time we spoke, I had posted about my business and the opening of a new branch. You said, “I see what you are doing. You are doing well, Clem. I still remember. I hope you are still going to church. Stay blessed.” In all my years of being a Christian, I have never met a man who spoke about God in a way that made me, personally, draw closer to God to this extent. You made me want to find God for myself. You made me want to love God for myself. And for that, I will always be grateful that I met someone like you. I miss you, Pastor. But I carry your words with me."
"Dear man of God, I am supposed to be strong but the grief I feel now can’t be expressed in words but I know you would want me to be strong and still hold on to the unwavering strength, love and faith you have thought me. There is a lot of things that have been left undiscussed but I want to say that I am enterally grateful for the grace you have extended to me and I don’t take you for granted at all sir . Thank you Pastor . I love you so much."
"Pastor T as we mostly calls you, your life was an example of what God can do with a man. You're a man who expresses love , meekness ,so principled, result orientation, family oriented... The fullness of Christ was displayed through you and you poured on us that same spirit.I know you've gone to join in the cloud of witness watching us as we dwell and manifest that which have be given to us by God through your obedience to his calling.... I love you so dearly pastor sir, till we meet again"
"A Tribute to Pst. Theo Pst. Theo was a man of faith, full of love and life. He didn’t just preach the Word he lived it. The way he loved God, the way he loved people… it changed me. He impacted so many lives, including mine. Everything he taught us is what I’m still standing on today. His wisdom, his prayers, his encouragement are still guiding me in life. He may be gone from our sight, but his voice, his lessons, and his faith live on in all of us he poured into. Thank you, Pst. Theo. We honor you. We miss you. And we will keep living what you taught us. Until we meet again sir."
"This is a beautiful tribute. Here’s a polished version that keeps the warmth and personal memories while making it flow more naturally: A Tribute to Pastor Theo My kind and ever-loving Pastor Theo, You have made such a meaningful impact on my life. Anytime you were on the phone with my mom and I was around, you would always ask to speak with me. Whenever we talked, you would ask about my school, my spiritual life, and everything else happening in my life. Those conversations always meant so much to me. You have been such a good uncle to me since I was little. I will always remember how you would take Elvita, Davina, and me out whenever we getvto see you, buy us things, and make sure we had a good time. I especially remember when I was small and you took Elvita, Davina, and me out for ice cream and pizza. Those are memories I will always treasure. I always looked forward to seeing you and hearing your voice whenever you called. You were always so kind, caring, and intentional with me, and I am grateful for every moment, every conversation, and every memory we shared. I miss you so much, Pastor Theo. But I find comfort in knowing that you are in a safe place. You were a true man of God. You loved God deeply, and I know that God loves you even more. Thank you for being such a wonderful uncle and such a beautiful example of faith and love. I will carry your memory in my heart forever. Rest peacefully, Pastor Theo. You will always be loved and deeply missed Praise Owase"
